Certified Medical Assistant

Pay: $17.00 – $23.00 per hour

MUST be a Certified Medical Assistant.

MUST Be able to work Tuesday Evenings.

MUST Be able to start work at 7:30 or 7:45 am to 5:00 pm

Dermatology experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Room patients.
• Obtain detailed patient medical history in regards to patient’s primary complaint.
• Obtain or update the medication list.
• Review patient charts and ensure that all required documents are completed by the patient and entered or scanned into the chart.
• Obtain necessary consent forms from the patient.
• Set up exam rooms according to the scheduled procedures and any additional needs of the physician for non-scheduled procedures.
• Scribe for the medical provider.
• Assist the physician with biopsies and cosmetic/surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, Cryotherapy, laser surgery, etc.
• Perform nursing procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, without direct physician supervision.
• Educate the patient on the physician’s treatment plan. Ensure the patient understands the treatment plan, proper use of medications, and the importance of patient compliance with the treatment plan before leaving the office.
• Straighten and clean exam rooms after patient visits.
• Fill out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as the physician requires.
• Stock all exam rooms.
• Clean and sterilize all medical instruments.
• Run autoclave when necessary.
• Prepare and submit an inventory list of supplies needed for clinical staff to avoid shortages.
• Gather and organize samples /e-scribe all prescriptions.
• Assemble biopsy and surgical packs.
• Register i-Pledge patients.
• Retrieve phone messages and return calls regarding patient prescriptions and lab/biopsy results.
