5 Ways to Complement and Improve Results From BOTOX®

BOTOX® results are already pretty great, considering how the injectable relaxes crow’s feet, frown lines, and more for months at a time. Even so, many people wonder: Are there ways to further enhance BOTOX®? Our New Jersey-based team recommends this popular injectable because it’s highly effective—but yes, there are ways to make the results even more impressive.

If you want to further enhance your refreshed look, there are several makeup and skin products we can recommend. Just remember that you’ll need to take a break from makeup for the first 24 hours after an injection session. Beyond that, consider these five tips:

1. Use a Primer

Using a primer before applying makeup can help smooth out the skin’s surface and create a more even texture. This can be especially helpful after getting BOTOX®, since the treatment can sometimes cause slight bumps or unevenness. By using a primer, you can create a smooth canvas for your makeup, as well as help your skin look flawless.

2. Moisturize

Keeping your skin moisturized is essential after BOTOX® injections. Well-hydrated skin can help prolong the effects of the treatment and create a plumper, more youthful appearance. Be sure to use a moisturizer that is compatible with your skin type and contains hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ceramides.

3. Avoid Heavy Makeup

It’s important to avoid heavy makeup that can clog your pores or make your skin look greasy following an injection session. Instead, opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic products that won’t irritate your skin. Try using a lightweight, tinted moisturizer or a sheer foundation to help create a natural-looking glow.

4. Use a Brightening Concealer

BOTOX® can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but it won’t address discoloration or dark circles under the eyes. Using a brightening concealer can help to counteract these cosmetic issues and create a more youthful appearance to match that smoother forehead. Look for a concealer with light-reflecting pigments that can help to brighten and “hide” dark circles.

5. Apply a Finishing Powder

Using a finishing powder can help to set your makeup and create a smooth, flawless finish. This strategy can also help to control oil and prevent your makeup from creasing. Look for a lightweight, translucent powder that won’t add any additional weight or coverage to your skin.
