Vollure in South Jersey

Soften Parenthesis Lines With This Filler from the Juvederm® Family

A loss of volume and vital elements in the skin can lead to the formation of wrinkles and lines, some of which deepen into more dramatic creases and folds as time goes by. While a youthful face is typically smooth, an aged face can be marked by lines that appear in a predictable pattern, such as nasolabial folds that form to either side of the nose and mouth and resemble the curve of parentheses. Vollure at South Jersey Skin Care & Laser Center softens these obvious lines to make them less severe—and thereby less noticeable.

Vollure in a Nutshell

  • Juvederm Vollure XC (frequently referred to simply as Vollure) is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler designed to promote skin moisture and elasticity as it adds volume
  • Vollure is ideal for moderate to severe nasolabial folds
  • When the treatment is handled by an experienced injector, results can last up to 18 months
  • Vollure can be administered as needed over time, allowing patients to maintain their smooth, more youthful look

Though Vollure has a specific purpose as a dermal filler, every face is different and requires a personal touch in order for results to look natural. Dr. Robin Levin is experienced with the entire line of Juvederm® fillers and understands how each works. This knowledge, coupled with her extensive training and artistic eye, gives her the ability to create satisfying, long-lasting results with Vollure at her South Jersey practice.

What is Vollure?

All fillers in the Juvederm® line are created by Allergan, which uses a proprietary cross-linking process to create a versatile, clear, hyaluronic acid-based gel—and Vollure is no exception. This particular filler is intended for adding volume to lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Is Vollure Right for You?

Vollure is intended for women and men who:

  • Are 21 or older
  • Have never had allergy-related anaphylaxis
  • Want to address their nasolabial folds and other lines near the mouth and nose
  • Understand their options and what Vollure can and cannot do

Dr. Levin and the South Jersey team work to make each patient as comfortable as possible, and sessions can talk as little as half an hour, with results that have been shown to last for a year and a half.

How Does Vollure Work?

Since Vollure has a hyaluronic acid base, it works much the same as hyaluronic acid found naturally in the skin, where it binds to water and provides moisture. Moist skin is pliant, elastic, and less prone to revealing wrinkles and lines. The physical volume of the filler also serves to replace natural collagen that gives the skin a smooth roundness, but that diminishes over time.

What to Expect After a Treatment Session

Vollure injections are considered to be minimally invasive, in that they require no incisions or sutures. While there may be some slight redness and swelling at the injection site, there is no need for down time to recover from a session. The added volume will be apparent right away. Dr. Levin and the South Jersey Skin Care team will explain the importance of avoiding sunlight, when makeup can be worn again, and other important details to consider after the injections.

Options Beyond Vollure

Other injectables in the Juvederm® line are available at South Jersey Skin Care & Laser Center, including Juvederm Ultra Plus® (which also softens nasolabial folds, but with a duration of about one year), Juvederm Ultra®, and Volbella® (which boosts the volume of naturally thin lips or lips than have grown thinner over time).

Another popular injectable from Allergan is BOTOX®, which is not a filler, but something known as a "neuromodulator" that prevents wrinkle-forming muscle contractions in the forehead and to the sides of the eyes, where crow's feet appear.

All of these treatments—and more—can be used alone or in combination by the Dr. Levin—led South Jersey Skin Care & Laser Center team. Their goal is to not isolate a single feature for improvement, but to look at the face as a whole and see how any treatment or treatments can work to create a natural-looking rejuvenation.
